The Cloud demystified
This half-day ABIS course explains the basic concepts of the 'Cloud'. Interactive, classroom training that is open to anyone who wants to know more about the cloud. Specific prior knowledge is not required.
In this half-day ABIS training, the concepts behind Cloud based IT architectures are discussed in a non-technical manner. More specifically, the characteristics of 'Clouds' are introduced, both from an architectural as well as an organisational point of view. Some core IT concepts – virtualisation, APIs, ... – are clarified high-level. Finally, the impact of Cloud-based solutions on the technical as well as non-technical – organisation of businesses will be introduced.
After completing this course, participants will have:
- a clear understanding of what the 'Cloud' actually is;
- an idea of the 'types' of Cloud in use today;
- an idea of the consequences of moving to the cloud: from a technical and organizational perspective; as well as from a security and privacy point of view;
- an idea of the main commercial Cloud providers on the market today.
