During this course participants become familiar with the general principles of the IMS system. Both the database system (IMS/DB) and the transaction manager (IMS/TM) are treated.
The main objective of this course is to offer -in particularly for the database part- an insight into the link between physical structures and its logical view of applications. An overview of the possibilities of such applications is given.
The description of the TP-monitor gives an insight into message processing in the IMS system. The different ways of building an application (conversational versus non-conversational) are also treated.
