Upgrading skills from VMware VI3 to vSphere

Intended for

This course is designed for system administrators ans systems engineers who are responsible for the integration, administration and management of ESX Server.

Background

Completion of the Vmware VI3 course of equivalent experience with VMware ESX.

Training method

Instructor-led classroom training with exercises. Each pair of student disposes of a server to make the exercices.

Objectives

This hands-on training explores the new features of VMware vSphere using a vCenter envrironment

At the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Deploy distributed virtual switches to simplify datacenter-wide network management
  • Use and manage VMware Storage VMotion
  • Ensure application availability using VMware Fault Tolerance
  • Use the new host profile feature to keep hosts uniformly configured
