Business architecture within TOGAF

Intended for

The course aims at people who are engaged in aligning their organization to the business strategy, both on project-, as well as on enterprise level: business managers and sponsors, process managers, project leaders, architects and analysts. Both business and IT professionals are welcome.

The course approach is typically a combination of project experiences and best practices, based on solid theoretical background knowledge. The courses combines an interesting set of techniques with a number of exercises in order to illustrate the added value of the subject.

Objectives

According to TOGAF, Business Architecture is a prerequisite for architecture work in any other domain (data, application, and technology) as it demonstrates the business value of subsequent architecture work to key stakeholders and business sponsors. This 1-day course delivers a crystal-clear response to frequent questions like: what is it, why should we have it, what are the most useful techniques, how does it relate to ICT, how can it help us to align business and ICT. The concept of business architecture is illustrated by a relevant case, in which it proved valuable to get a firm grip on the process!

This course will:

  • Create awareness about the need for business-driven enterprise architecture. In some organizations business architecture is already owned and developed by business representatives.
  • Demonstrate how business architecture is covered by and within TOGAF.
  • Develop insight in business architecture as a means to address today's business challenges: customer journey, strategy development, cost-efficiency, business and ICT alignment, product innovation, etc.
