Advanced business process management and business architecture

Intended for

This combined training of process management and architecture aims at people who are engaged in process innovation and/or alignment of their organizations to the business strategy, on a project - or enterprise level: business managers, process managers or sponsors, project leaders, business architects and analysts.

Background

Experience in process analysis and/or strategic thinking.

Training method

The course approach is typically a combination of project experiences and best practices, based on solid theoretical background knowledge. The courses combines an interesting set of techniques with a number of exercises in order to illustrate the added value of the subject.

Objectives

This 3-day course takes traditional BPM beyond local process optimization (lean, six-sigmaaaaaac9 ), towards end-to-end process innovation. It teaches the continuous alignment of business processes with the strategic objectives of the organization, as well as the translation of the business strategy to projects and day-to-day operations. Next to processes, the art of 'business architecture' introduces information-, product-, and organizational aspects in order to facilitate decision making, governance, scoping and change management across the enterprise.

In this course participants will:

  • learn to explain what business process management (BPM) is, and asses the maturity of your organization with regard to process management and service oriented thinking
  • learn to assess the value of typical BPM techniques (many originating from manufacturing) in an office environment, and select the best techniques in the context of your challenges
  • get insight in the fundamental structures and mechanisms of an organization in terms of products, services, processes, vocabulary, organizational structures (business architecture).

A realistic case-study example is used to experience the impact of strategic changes on the diverse aspects of an organization
