Evaluating and preparing for Windows 7

Intended for

ICT personnel or decision makers who are responsible for administering or designing a Windows client environment.

Background

Basic management of a Microsoft Windows 2003 Environment and installing, configuring, and administering a Microsoft Windows client (XP Professional or Vista), or equivalent skills and knowledge.

Training method

Class training, during which all the aspects of the theoretical explanation are tried out in realistic scenarios. The user has the opportunity to experiment and ask questions. Each student disposes of a workstation.

Objectives

This course will give you an overview and some hands-on experience in new features and configurations in Windows 7. After this course, you should be able to envison the impact of upgrading and integrating Windows 7 in an existing Windows Active directory envrionment.3 main tasks can be distinguished within the usage of Microsoft Project:

At the end of the course, students will be able to :

  • Understand the concepts and terms used in Windows 7 to provide User Productivity enhancements by changes made in the user interface and Windows Explorer.
  • Have insight in the key changes in group policies and management interfaces like powershell 2.0 and how to use them to manage desktop Configurations
  • Have a first impression on how remote access could be provided to users using windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2
  • Understand the new Windows 7 security components and what configuration methods can be used to manage them.
  • Understand the new concepts used to deploy Windows 7 images
