This course gives an overview of the relational systems, indicates how to write basic SQL statements and presents a detailed description of the SQL Server system: what it is, what it is intended for, and how it can be used. The course will also deal with the deficiencies, the relation to other RDBMS and aspects of performance and integrity.
In addition, the course teaches how the system is used in practice. So, at the end of the course the participants will not only have the necessary theoretical knowledge of SQL Server as RDBMS, but they will have sufficient practical training to start working independently.
This course consists of three components. After having attended all three, participants will have a general overview of SQL Server as RDBMS.
Participants can also attend each separately; this allows them to compose their own package, based on background and aims.
The courses RDBMS concepts and SQL fundamentals are also presented as introductory courses for other relational database systems.
